The
research article that would change mankind was published on the 17th
of August 2012. Jennifer Doudna had just co-founded a protein that has the
potential to cure any disease.
The first local story discussed whether
or not a high-density lipoprotein (HDL) was actually beneficial. The Lancet study concluded that a high
HDL is not necessarily analogous to a healthy heart.
The next local story discussed how
studying for the LSAT actually changes brain structure. This test is based on
reason and thinking. Because students would be constantly exercising this part
of your brain, the connects actually become stronger which may correspond to an
increase in IQ.
The first national news story involved
the killing of six people in a Sikh temple in Wisconsin. The killer was shot
dead and 4 others were wounded.
The next news story involves Hurricane Isaac.
This hurricane had already flooded the streets with of states throughout the
south. There were a bunch of arrests due to robbers ransacking empty homes.

Egypt launched airstrikes on Northern
Sinai. This was in response to 6 militant attacks on security checkpoints and a
military factory. Only six were injured.
Russia
entered the World Trade Organization after 18 years of negotiation. This will
bring cheaper prices for consumers but it has the potential to put weak industries
out of business.
None of the above new stories have any
relation to my study whatsoever. They also have no influence on it.
