Evaluation of New York Times Stories

Is 4K really worth it? Does it truly have the “edge” over traditional 1080p TVs? Perhaps you should reconsider taking out your wallet before buying one of these televisions. Do you have heart burn? And take a drug known as Prilosec? Think twice the next time you take the cap off the bottle.
Joe Stinziano, the VP of Samsung, released their new television at a showcase in Las Vegas. But it isn’t Mr. Stinziano who is the protagonist of this story. In fact, there isn’t really one at all. Perhaps you could call Samsung the main character. After all, the entire article discusses the company’s new product: the KS9500.
The new product was released at International CES. This is essentially an electronics show where companies from al over the nation come to display their new product. The fact that Samsung’s new curved 4K television was displayed at one of the biggest electronic showcases puts more emphasis and “pizazz”, if you will, on the product.
As with any new product, there were disagreements about the new technology. There wasn’t much of an argument as it was more of the author discussing the product itself. He came to the conclusion that it was beneficial to wait to purchase the product. This is because there are not many shows that are available in 4K. This would, therefore, deem the new technology pointless. However, as Samsung executive Dave Das stated, the entire 4K technology is becoming increasingly popular.
The next story is about long-term heartburn medication. The main character in this story is most certainly Prilosec. The goal is to reduce the acidity of the stomach and thus heartburn. The only problem is that the medication can cause problems if taken for more than 14 days.

Although there is not a specific setting for this story, the drug is being taken all over the nation. The research conducted suggested that long-term use of this medication can lead to infections and kidney disease.

There is certainly not any disagreement happening in the story. It is more of discussion of the research conducted on the drug and the harm that it will cause.
